Welcome to DataBent.

I am an innovative problem solver and organic leader with extensive experience in technology and community involvement. I have been passionate about computer technology since I wrote my first program in 1975 when I was a high school junior. I have worked with computers all my working life, mostly with relational databases as a database engineer for scientific applications. At the Space Telescope Science Institute, among other things, I worked on the development of the Hubble Data Archive as well as a data warehouse for telemetry data. I am an experienced bio-tech clinical trial Data Manager who has survived a number of FDA submitted trials. Also, I am working with a fellow on an internet start-up as acting CTO.

My husband Pete and I moved to Seattle in late 1997 from Baltimore, Maryland. We love the outdoors here in the northwest and enjoy hiking, sailing, kayaking, bicycling, and skiing. Traveling is another hobby of ours. I also enjoy dancing. We are both very involved with volunteering: Pete teaches sailing at the Center for Wooden Boats and I am on the Board of Directors for the West Seattle Food Bank.

I have served on the board of the West Seattle Food Bank since early 2000, six of those years as Vice President. During that time I also served on the steering committee for the Three Projects|One Community capital campaign to build three mixed use buildings, one of which now houses the Food Bank. In addition to my duties as an officer and now as a director-at-large, I maintain the computer hardware and software for the Food Bank. I developed and implemented a comprehensive technical plan for the new space including hardware, software, networking and internet connectivity.
